SURVEILLANCE PHOTOS: Morphine thief at Mesa Walgreens

MESA, Ariz. -- Police in Mesa are asking to the public's help to find the suspect in a burglary at a Walgreens pharmacy.

Investigators have released of series of surveillance photos of the man.

According to police, the suspect walked into the Walgreens at 1135 N. Mesa Drive late Tuesday night. The suspect approached the pharmacy counter, pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded morphine.

The man reportedly told the clerk that innocent people would die if he did not comply.

The clerk did as he was told and gave the suspect several bottles of morphine.

The man left the store and was last seen heading north to the canal on a dark mountain bike.

The suspect is described as a white man between 50 and 60 years old. He is about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs between 175 and 190 pounds. He has a graying beard and was wearing a black velvet "Corleone" hat, a black velvet jacket, dark pants and black shoes.
