SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- A groundskeeper is accused of stealing computer equipment from Scottsdale Healthcare Shea Medical Center.
According to the Scottsdale Police Department, David H. Butler illegally accessed the hospital and removed new and uninstalled computer equipment from a storage room on multiple occasions between Oct. 8 and 13.
Butler, 37, was a contract groundskeeper at the time of the thefts.
On Thursday, a computer installer for the hospital noticed the computer equipment missing and notified hospital security.
Security personnel reviewed surveillance video, which reportedly showed Butler walking in a stairwell with computer equipment.
Hospital security detained Butler until police arrived and placed him under arrest.
According to the Scottsdale Police Department, detectives served a search warrant at Butler's Phoenix home and recovered stolen property and other related evidence.
Butler was held in custody on an unrelated parole warrant. Charges are being filed for felony theft.
