GILBERT, Ariz. - Gilbert police have arrested a man in connection to money theft from an ATM machine.

Police were initially asking for the public's help in identifying a female suspect they believed had stolen money from a victim's bank account. Detectives discovered that the real suspect, Matthew Dilullo, 23, had provided false information about the case.

Police released a surveillance photo of a woman getting cash at an ATM thinking she was the theft suspect. Detectives have determined the woman in the photo is known by Dilullo but is not a suspect in this case.

On July 30, that woman was seen in a surveillance photo removing more than $500 from someone's bank account using a drive-up ATM at the Bank of America at Power and Warner roads in Gilbert.

Gilbert police believe Dilullo may be part of a larger "card skimming" operation. He faces charges including theft, forgery and false reporting to law enforcement.
