Marcos Bustamonte, Citizens Supporting SCVSD#35 Spec. Fund, says in the wake of continued state cuts of $133 million to education during the past school year and the threat of additional cuts to education by the Legislature; many school districts have opted to place overrides on the November 2, ballot.  He says District 35 is seeking to extend for seven years the override approved by voters in 2006. He says it will not increase taxes if approved.  He says the additional money generated will enable the District to continue all day kindergarten and other pre-school programs and will prevent teacher layoffs.
