Arizona's top female golfer has sites set on another state titlePosted: Updated:
PHOENIX - Kaira Martin continues the tradition of great golfers coming from Xavier Prep.
She comes in a small package but the senior golfer is a force to be reckoned with on the golf course. After shooting a 30, six under par, at the state tournament last year she didn't take any time off.
Martin continued to hone her skills playing in tournaments around the country over the summer returning for her senior season with the goal of leading her team to yet another title.
Golf is something Martin started playing with her dad when she was four years-old. Now fourteen years later she has fallen in love with the game and looks forward to playing professionally some day.
Next year Martin will play at the University of Virginia on a full scholarship, but first she has her sights set on breaking her own state record. Not to be greedy but she also wants to lead her team to their 13th straight state championship.
