Arizona economy improvementsPosted: Updated:
Better news from the job market. According to the State Department of Commerce, Arizona is on track to lose just over 1% of all jobs in this year, that's half the amount economists had predicted.
The commerce department cites stimulus spending and stronger-than-expected economic growth around the world.
But projected job growth next year is being revised downward from 1% to .7%.
And four of the highway rest areas closed in Arizona a year ago because of budget cuts are back open.
The department of transportation says each rest area costs $320,000 a year for maintenance and utilities. The money comes from fuel and vehicle license taxes.
