Katherine Heigl -- Life As We Know ItPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Actress Katherine Heigl gives Tara Hitchcock the lowdown on her new movie, "Life As We Know It," which co-stars Josh Duhamel.
She also shared details about a cause close to her heart -- the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation’s Compassion Revolution. Heigl and her mother set up the foundation in honor of her brother, who was killed in a car wreck when he was 15. One goal of the foundation is to address pet overpopulation, raise awareness about the importance of spaying and neutering pets and provide funds for low-cost and free spay-and-neuter programs in Los Angeles County.
"We're trying to minimize the number of animals that end up in the shelters every year," Heigl said. "We want people to spay and neuter their animals, and understand how significant and important it is. But you can't ask them to without providing the means to do it. That's our goal for this year."
