St. Mary's Food Bank damaged by Tuesday's stormPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX (AP) -- Clean up and repair work is under way at the St. Mary's Food Bank warehouse in West Phoenix.
Two warehouses packed with food for needy families was damaged during Tuesday's powerful storm.
Hail damaged skylights and allowed rainwater to flood in and destroy about 20 percent of the warehouse food supply.
Food bank spokeswoman Beverly Damore says damage is estimated at $200,000. The food bank is currently trying to replace the food that was destroyed during the storm.
Elsewhere, Damore says the St. Mary's Food Bank in Flagstaff has escaped any damage from Wednesday's storms that hit the area.
