TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - The identity of a Tucson man killed in an exchange of gunfire with Pima County Sheriff's deputies has been released.
Authorities say 53-year-old Sean B. McCloughan was killed late Saturday night after deputies were called to the scene of reported domestic violence assault.
The 911 call was made by McCloughan's 12-year-old daughter who claimed her father was attacking her mother at their home in the 18200 block of West Tucker Road.
The mother and daughter had fled the residence by the time two deputies arrived and they say McCloughan opened fire on them. The deputies returned fire and McCloughan was pronounced dead at the scene.
The sheriff's department said Monday that an investigation into the fatal shooting is ongoing and the two deputies involved are on paid administrative leave.
