PHOENIX - The National Weather Service issued several warnings and watches as storms moved through the Phoenix-metro area on Monday afternoon.

A Dust Storm Warning was in effect for part of the day and various Severe Thunderstorm Warnings cropped up from the southeast Valley to the downtown Phoenix area.

The storm brought strong winds that caused damage to trees and anything that wasn't nailed down.

The weather caused some flights scheduled to arrive at Sky Harbor International Airport to be diverted along with delays between 15 and 30 minutes for take-offs.

Airport officials said the flights were diverted to airports in Tucson, Flagstaff, Las Vegas, Albuquerque, N.M., El Paso, Texas, and Ontario, Calif.
