Interview with Nogales mayor's lawyerPosted: Updated:
The mayor of Nogales Octavio Garcia Von Borstel and his father Octavio Garcia Suarez will remain behind bars until Monday. That's because a superior court judge has put a stay on their bond on the case.
Attorney Christopher Scileppi has the job of proving the mayor's innocence. Earlier this week bond for the mayor and his father was set at $250,000. But that changed when prosecutors complained that Judge Helen Maley had a conflict of interest.
Now that things have moved to a superior court, Scileppi has one goal in mind for the mayor and his father, get them out of custody.
