Domestic dispute leads to standoff situation in YoungtownPosted: Updated:
YOUNGTOWN - An overnight standoff in Youngtown ended early Friday morning after police were able to sort out those involved.
Around 1 a.m., Youngtown police received a call from a woman concerned about a domestic situation at a home near 116th and Peoria avenues. When officers arrived, the male involved had left the scene, so police did, too.
Then around 4 a.m., police surrounded the home after getting a second call from the woman, who was concerned that her boyfriend would harm her.
Police determined it was a domestic situation and responded.
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office was also called out after it was determined the male suspect had barricaded himself inside the home along with the woman and two children.
Youngtown police Chief Terry McDonald said officers were able to slowly remove the family members, including two children between the ages of 7 and 14.
The man in question was found intoxicated and asleep inside the home.
One person suffered minor injuries after being cut on some broken glass.
Police and MCSO are still sorting out the details of the domestic situation. No word on if any charges will be filed.
