TEMPE, Ariz. – Four suspects have been arrested in connection to a series of robberies that began Tuesday night.
Tempe police say two more robberies took place in the hours following the first incident. Police say 19-year-old Scott Holbrook was involved in each of the robberies.
Holbrook allegedly approached a man walking near Rural and Apache in Tempe Tuesday just after 9 p.m. and threatened the victim with a knife and stole his belongings. That victim was able to run away and call police.
A second victim reported being robbed at knifepoint in the area shortly after the first incident. The suspect description matched that of Holbrook.
Several hours later on Wednesday at about 1 a.m. police say four suspects committed armed robbery at a convenience store in the 800 block of east Broadway. Police say the suspects also used a knife to demand cash and other items.
Additional patrol officers who had Holbrook’s description were deployed following the last robbery and searched the area.
All four suspects in the armed robbery were located and arrested Wednesday night. Taken into custody were 18-year old Brian Lessing, 26-year-old Nathaniel Huffman and 22-year-old Michael Bailer, as well as Holbrook.
Holbrook faces three counts of armed robbery and one count of attempted armed robbery. Lessing faces second-degree armed robbery and possession of stolen property. Huffman faces second-degree armed robbery and false reporting to law enforcement. Bailey faces one count of second-degree armed robbery.
