Funds allocated to stop border smuggling; Arizona drug disposal program

Attorney General Terry Goddard announced Wednesday, $418,000 will be spent on an initiative to intercept guns and money moving across our border with Mexico.

The funding will help pay for personnel, training and equipment for police agencies along the Nogales-Tucson corridor.

The $50 million border security fund was set up using part of a settlement with Western Union.


Arizonans turned in three-tons of prescription drugs this past weekend in the first-ever statewide "take-back" campaign.

The operation provided people a way to safely get rid of their prescrpition meds and prevent them from being misused.
