FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- Coconino County sheriff's deputies and detectives are investigating after a Flagstaff woman was killed in an industrial accident Monday evening.
Deputies responded to a salvage yard on Roosevelt Drive off of Leupp Road at approximately 8 p.m.
According to sheriff's spokesman Gerry Blair, a 38-year-old woman was assisting two men who were attempting to fix a Bobcat-style tractor with a malfunctioning front-end loader at a salvage yard on Roosevelt Drive off of Leupp Road.
According to witnesses, the door of the tractor would not close and the front loader was in the up position.
The victim was standing at the front of the tractor with one person inside the cab and a third person attempting to shut the door.
For an unknown reason, the front end suddenly came down, pinning the woman between the front of the tractor and the loader.
The victim was transported to Flagstaff Medical Center where she was pronounced dead soon after her arrival.
