Firefighters rescue man after knee injury while hiking South MountainPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX - Firefighters responded to a mountain rescue involving a 49-year-old man on South Mountain.
According to Phoenix fire a father and son were hiking early this morning on the Javalina Trail when the man's knee gave out.
The man said he slipped on some loose rock and his knee gave out.
Off duty firefighters hiking on the trail rushed to help out until help arrived.
The man was brought down on a big wheel and will be transported to the hospital for treatment.
