Wife of murdered rancher still hospitalized after being struck by carPosted: Updated:
Six months ago, Arizona was thrust in to the national spotlight after Douglas rancher, Robert Krentz was killed by what authorities believe was an illegal immigrant.
Sue Krentz, Robert's wife, is now in the headlines. She's in the hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a suspected drunk driver.
After spending the evening at mass at Saint Luke's Catholic Church, Sue Krentz, the wife of murdered rancher Robert Krentz, was helping her friend, Shirley Gregory, cross the street. They made it half way when a car hit both of them.
"He was driving under the influence of alcohol," said Marcus Gonzalez of the Douglas Police Department.
Police say 66-year-old Ramon Saucedo had a blood alcohol content of .114 and A setting sun is his eyes as he drove west bound on the street.
Krentz and Gregory had severe enough injuries to be transported to a Tucson hospital. Both are expected to live, but for the Krentz family and the City of Douglas this has been a trying past 6 months.
Douglas police say that if either sue Krentz or Shirley Gregory dies, Saucedo would then be charged with attempted murder.
