Car carrying family of four hits motorized bike and slams into wall in North Phoenix

PHOENIX - Police responded to a bad accident in North Phoenix last night involving a family of four and a motorized bike.

The family’s Honda Accord collided with a man riding a motorized bike, causing the man to crash onto the hood and through the windshield.

The car then careened another hundred yards and slammed into a brick wall.

"When the impact on the brick wall, the bicyclist then flew from the vehicle, hitting a light pole and then hitting the ground, so we had three times the patient hit something hard, the car light pole then the ground," Captain Tony Mure said.

The bicyclist was transported in critical condition but is expected to survive.

The family, a mom, dad, and their eight and five year old boys were also hospitalized.
