Tanker truck spills 50 gallons of gasoline on Phoenix roadPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- A tanker truck spilled approximately 50 gallons of gasoline on a Phoenix street Friday afternoon.
According to Capt. Jonathan Jacobs with the Phoenix Fire Department, the truck was leaving a fuel yard near 51st Avenue and McKinley Street when a truck dolly got caught underneath. It pierced the tank, causing the gasoline to leak onto the road.
Jacobs said 51st Avenue is shut down in the area as the rest of the fuel is transferred from the tanker into another truck.
Phoenix Fire hazardous materials personnel are standing by in case there are any problems.
There are no storm drains in the area so none of the spilled gasoline got away from the scene.
No injuries were reported.
