PHOENIX -- Two women are in the hospital after an early morning wreck that closed Interstate 17 for a time.
It happened just after 1 a.m. on the Black Canyon Freeway near Cactus Road.
According to police, the women were moving and had quite a bit of furniture on their truck. They apparently were driving a bit slower than normal on the freeway when a tow truck rear-ended them.
Furniture was scattered all over the roadway, prompting officers to shut it down. It was re-opened a couple of hours.
The nature of the women's injuries was not immediately available.
