ORACLE, Ariz. – A billboard in Southern Arizona is taking aim at a sheriff known for his tough stance on immigration.
The billboard is in Oracle, Arizona and has Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu very angry.
The billboard features a Hispanic family and an alleged quote from Babeu that reads, “This is our most serious public safety issue and a national security threat to America."
The sheriff says he did not put up or approve the billboard and does not know the family featured on it. In a news release Babeu says, “I find this billboard offensive and misleading. The message is not truthful and takes away from the great work our law enforcement members do on a daily basis.”
The billboard is placed on the property of Frank Pierson and Mary Ellen Kazda, of Oracle.
