AHCCCS changes include co-payPosted: Updated:
Some cuts coming this week to AHCCCS government provided health care in Arizona.
Some optional benefits will be cut and a co-pay will be added to certain members. The co-pay will save the program $22 million but some pharmacists believe not everyone can afford it.
If those patients that were getting those prescriptions every month now all of a sudden have this co-pay they can't afford, they won't be getting their prescription filled then all of a sudden that volume will drop from that store," said Pharmacy owner Steve Genrich.
One point six million people in Arizona rely on AHCCCS for their health care. The state program faces a $1 billion shortfall.
