A surprise Tuesday for a Pueblo Magnet High School teacher which at least one group thinks is making a difference.

Dr. Andrew Lettes was surprised Tuesday morning with an "Innovation Heroes" award from the Science Foundation of Arizona.

Dr. Lettes was nominated by TUSD for the award after he created a bioscience program at Pueblo that enables students to both sharpen their academic skills and become community leaders.

Dr. Lettes program started with 20 students and it has grown to over 80.  The program allows students to earn college credit while still at pueblo. Congratulations!
