Few evening showers overnight; Sunshine and high of 93 on ThursdayPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- For only the fourth time on record, a tropical depression will make its way into Arizona. Tropical Storm Georgette has weakened to a depression and continues to move north/northwest in the Gulf of California.
The National Hurricane Center's forecast puts the center of the circulation in Central Arizona by tomorrow morning, but by then it will be fairly weak. The massive amount of moisture from this storm will affect Arizona today. Parts of the East Valley picked up nearly an inch of rain overnight, and more is in the forecast for the afternoon.
Maricopa County is under a Flash Flood Watch until 6 p.m. for the possibility of heavy rain and flooding.
Look for a high today of just 90 degrees.
