Late-night fire destroys Southwest Phoenix home

PHOENIX -- Falling roof tiles made a late night house fire extra dangerous for Phoenix firefighters.

Crews were called out to a home near 47th Avenue and Baseline Road shortly before 10:30 Tuesday night.

The two people who were inside the home when the fire started got out safely. Their dog, however, is missing.

The home had heavy red roof tiles. Those tiles started falling, forcing firefighter to pull out of the house for their safety. None of the firefighters was injured.

The home was destroyed.

It's not yet known what sparked the fire.
