Diamond Children's Medical Center gets new lobby

Posted: Updated:

The next time a sick child walks in to Diamond Children's at University Medical Center it might seem like they've entered a giant toy store.

The medical facility's renovated lobby is now finished. It includes a toy train.  Hot air balloons painted on the walls.  A library and an interactive fun wall. It's a project hospital administrators have dreamed about for the past 15 years.

"It will take their mind of the idea of sickness and make them think of happiness and wellness," said Chief Medical Officer Dr. Andreas Theodorou.

There will be another grand opening celebration at the hospital wednesday Sept. 22 from 6-8 P.M.
