Miller in rebuilding mode at ArizonaPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- Sean Miller could have had gone for immediate gratification at Xavier, a program he had turned into an NCAA tournament fixture.
Instead, he took the more difficult route: rebuilding the tarnished tradition at Arizona.
When he was named head coach in April 2009, Miller inherited a program in disarray after the retirement of revered coach Lute Olson and an NCAA investigation. He did his best to pick up the scraps, but the Wildcats ended up missing the NCAA tournament for the first time in 26 years.
This summer, Miller hit the AAU circuit harder than just about everyone else and has built a solid recruiting foundation -- the first step in getting Arizona back among college basketball's elite.
