Grandfather flips golf cart carrying wife, grandkids; 2-year-old airliftedPosted: Updated:
PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. – A 2-year-old boy was seriously injured and had to be airlifted to a local hospital after a golf cart crash in Prescott Valley.
Officers responded to a report of an injury crash involving a golf cart on Friday just after 11 a.m. in the 1400 block of Lucky Draw Lane.
When police arrived at the scene, they found the golf cart on its side with five possibly injured people.
Prescott Valley police say 62-year-old Donald Joseph, from Ohio, was driving the cart with his wife, 61-year-old Margaret Joseph and their three grandchildren: a 2-year-old boy and 4-year-old twin girls, when the cart flipped over.
Police say a possible mechanical failure caused Donald to lose control before the cart flipped.
The 2-year-old boy suffered serious injuries but they are not believed to be life-threatening.
Margaret and one of the twin girls were taken to Yavapai Regional Medical Center West Campus also with non-life-threatening injuries.
