PHOENIX – A man who stole an SUV that contained three kids earlier this year has been sentenced today in Maricopa County Superior Court.

Dwayne Gregory Harris, 21, will spend 15 years in prison and will be on probation for the rest of his life, per Judge Michael Kemp’s sentencing on Friday.

Harris was charged with kidnapping and theft of a motor vehicle after the kidnapping that took place in the early morning hours of March 30.

The children's parents went inside a 7-Eleven convenience store and left their three kids, ages 2, 4 and 6, in the running SUV.

Harris then stole the car with the kids in it before dropping them off in the area of 13th Street and McDowell Road.
