EMPE, Ariz. (AP) -- Arizona wide receiver Early Doucet will undergo surgery to repair a sports hernia and is expected to be sidelined three to six weeks.
Doucet was injured in Sunday's season-opening 17-14 victory at St. Louis after being sidelined much of training camp and the preseason with an abdominal strain. The third-year player from LSU has been plagued by injuries, missing a total of 16 games with hamstring, groin and rib problems.
Undrafted rookie Stephen Williams moves up to Doucet's spot as No. 3 receiver behind Larry Fitzgerald and Steve Breaston.
Meanwhile, running back Beanie Wells says he'll "definitely" practice on Friday after testing his bruised right knee in a limited workout on Thursday.
Wells has not had a full practice since the final preseason game on Sept. 2.
