Near record temperatures expected as fall approachesPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- We might be just a week away from the first official day of fall, but don't tell Mother Nature.
With a forecast high of 107 degrees today and tomorrow -- that's about 8 degrees above average -- it's going to be a hot end to the work week, and more of the same is on tap for the weekend. We'll top out at 106 both Saturday and Sunday.
We're looking at calm and quiet weather for at least the next week ahead. That means clear, cool nights and hot days with nothing but sunshine.
Temperatures should start to come down a bit early next week.
The first official day of fall is next Thursday. By the time we get there, we might be back down to about 100, possibly even double-digits.
