Tucson's historic Rialto Theatre in dangerPosted: Updated:
The Rialto Theater is one of the few success stories in downtown Tucson, but according to reports, it's behind on payments to the Rio Nuevo board and could soon be evicted.
The theater hosts mostly live music acts and draws large crowds. But the recent boycott against Arizona over Senate Bill 1070 apparently hurt its business. The transition to the new Rio Nuevo board has, according to the Rialto, changed the rules. The Rialto board met in a telephone conference call Monday afternoon, but the Rialto's executive director has declined comment at this time.
