Economic aid is on the way for rural counties in Arizona. Governor Jan Brewer is awarding $4 million from her discretionary stimulus funds. The funds will go toward programs affected by the economy such as education reform, health care, public safety and economic development.
A quick look at the numbres for southern Arizona counties, with Graham, Greenlee and Santa Cruz getting about $450,000 each and Cochise and Pinal counties receiving $230,000.
And Arizona is about to receive millions of dollars in federal money for education. The $10 billion federal education fund is meant to support education jobs. Arizona will receive $212 million of that. To keep thousands of teachers in the classroom this school year.
