PHOENIX – A Phoenix pediatrician who was charged with distribution of child pornography is now a wanted fugitive.

Dr. Emilio Luna reportedly fled during an approved outing to church on Sunday at about 12:30 p.m.

Police found his abandoned vehicle in the parking lot about eight hours later. Inside the car were bolt cutters and the electronic monitoring device he had been fitted with.

Luna was granted pretrial release which stipulated house confinement and the electronic ankle bracelet on Thursday. He is accused of sharing child pornography on peer-to-peer networks.

Luna is a Hispanic male standing about 5’10 tall and weighing about 170 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Police say he is also known as Emilio Luna del Real and was born in Zacatecas, Mexico but has lived in California, Illinois and Texas.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to Luna's arrest.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call the FBI at (602) 279-5511.
