ASU serial groper strikes again?Posted: Updated:
TEMPE, Ariz. -- Police are trying to determine if the serial groper who has been assaulting women on the Arizona State University campus for months might have struck again.
A university spokesman did confirm that a young woman was groped on campus at about 7:30 Sunday evening, but investigators have not yet definitively tied that assault to the previous incidents. The ASU spokesman was not able to provide any other details about what might be the latest in a long string of assaults.
Police say a man on a mountain bike has been riding up behind female students and grabbing their breasts and buttocks. In some cases, the suspect circled around and grabbed the victim a second time before riding away.
The attacks go back to early March. ASU police said they have reports of six incidents that took place between March 2 ad Aug. 31.
Very little information about the suspect is available. The only description police have released is that he is a dark-skinned male in his 20s.
University officials are warning students to be aware of their surroundings and advising them to immediately report any suspicious activity.
Anyone with information concerning these incidents should call ASU police at 480-965-3456.
