Tucson group makes literacy donationPosted: Updated:
Wednesday the Tucson Festival of Books presented a big check to several literacy programs.
$150,000 was donated to the local literacy groups. It was all part of today's international literacy day at manuel herrera park. "We were able to present this check to the Reading Seed Program, the Literacy for Life Coalition and to the University of Arizona," said Brenda Viner from the Tucson Festival of Books.
"The ability to read opens up not only all kinds of doors in day to day life and holding down different kinds of jobs," said best selling author Jennifer Lee Carrell.
The Third Annual Festival of Books will be March 12 and 13 of next year.
