Auction offers luxury furniture at bargain-basement prices

PHOENIX -- High-end luxury quality furniture at bargain-basement prices? If your sense of style exceeds your bank account, an auction that takes place every Wednesday night might be just what you need.

Javier Soto checked it out, getting the lowdown from the owner of DeLaney's Furniture Auction & Liquidators, Charles DeLaney.

DeLaney's, which has been in Phoenix for years, offers brand-name furniture for 70 to 80 percent off the retail price. That means you could save hundreds, even thousands of dollars.

"There's no minimum bid. We're going to blow it out no matter what the price is," DeLaney said.

While some of the pieces might have small nicks or scratches from moving, most of it is brand new, right out of the box.

Auctions are held every Wednesday night and require a $100 cash deposit to get a bidding number. That deposit is refundable if you do not make a purchase. If you do buy something, that money will be applied to the purchase price. All sales are final.

If you want to see what's available -- there are 350 to 400 new pieces each week -- the warehouse is open on auction day, 8 a.m.-7 p.m., for preview. The auction starts at 7 p.m. and runs until the last item is sold, usually between 9 p.m. and  10 p.m.

DeLaney's Furniture Auction & Liquidators is located at 3600 W. Osborn Road, Phoenix.

Please note: While Javier Soto did a wonderful job showcasing some of the pieces, he is not included with any of the furniture.
