Brewer, Goddard to debate Wednesday eveningPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Candidates for Arizona governor participate Wednesday evening in what could be their only televised debate.
Republican Jan Brewer and Democrat Terry Goddard are required to participate in the debate being aired by KAET-TV of Arizona State University because they've accepted public funding for their respective campaigns.
The Libertarian and Green party nominees are not running with public funding but they also will participate.
Goddard has challenged Brewer to additional debates. Her campaign doesn't flatly reject the challenge but says the public already knows who Brewer is amd what her record is.
Brewer is the incumbent, taking office in January 2009 when Democrat Janet Napolitano resigned to join President Barack Obama's Cabinet.
