A child playing with matches sparked a fire that destroyed four apartments, according to Tucson firefighters.

No one was hurt.

Crews were called out to the 'woods apartments' on Valencia late Saturday night, after neighbors reported the fire. Nearly 50 firefighters knocked down the flames.

The Tucson Fire Department says the child playing with matches was an 11-year-old boy.

Tucson firefighters handled another apartment fire at the La Mirada apartments.

Someone called 911 Saturday night and reported an odor of natural gas. When firefighters showed up, they discovered a kitchen fire in one of the units. The fire was said to be caused by a faulty appliance.

The apartment was vacant at the time.
