PHOENIX - Gunmen stormed a Phoenix home in the early morning hours of Saturday and killed a teenager.

Police are still searching for the people responsible in the shooting that left four others injured during a home invasion near 47th Street and Roeser.

A call was made to police at about 4:45 a.m. Saturday reporting shots fired. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered four people had been shot and another injured.

According to police there were seven or eight people inside the house when two or three Hispanic men burst in and opened fire, killing Frederico Aguilar, 14, and sending three other males, one in his 20s, another in his 40s and another teen, to the hospital. The man in his 20s is said to be in critical condition and the other two suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Sgt. Steve Martos, of the Phoenix Police Department, says, “We don’t know the relationship, not just between the victims, but between the victims and the suspects.”

Police also say the suspects attacked a man who was sleeping in a car a few houses away from the home. Martos explains, “The suspects we believe at this point assaulted that male. That male was found by officers approximately two or three houses away from the original incident. That victim did not sustain any life-threatening injury.”

According to Sgt. Trent Crump, investigators have reason to believe this was a drug-related robbery/shooting and that Aguilar was not the target. He was spending the night at the home.

Kevin Smith lives next door to where the shootings took place. He tells 3TV, “I mean, it’s bad. It’s bad to see this. I left at about 2 – 2:30 in the morning, I come back and I’m like ‘Wow’.” His daughter was having a slumber party last night.

Smith says, “It’s kinda bad because, I mean, stray bullet, you know, could’ve came through the house.”
