CHANDLER, Ariz. – A Maricopa man was arrested after his lawyer filed a motion to dismiss another charge and discrepancies were discovered by police.

A search warrant was executed by the Chandler Police Department Financial Crimes Unit at the home of Martin McDonald, located in the 40000 block of W. Chambers Drive in Maricopa, Arizona.

McDonald was put under arrest and taken to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office where he faces one count of perjury and one count of forgery.

He was first arrested May 11 on charges of forgery, theft and fraudulent schemes.

The new charges were filed after the Chandler detective assigned to the case received a motion to dismiss the case by McDonald’s attorney and discovered an altered American Express statement.

McDonald is currently being held on a $25,000 bond. His next court date is set for September 13 in the Pinal County Superior Court.
