Man robs Scottsdale sex shop and tries to flee through daycare property

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – A man was arrested after allegedly committing armed robbery at an adult shop in Scottsdale.

Police say the suspect entered the Fascinations store located at 2302 N. Scottsdale Road Wednesday at about 10:30 a.m. brandishing a gun.

He was reportedly dressed in black and was wearing a ski mask. A female employee and a female customer were in the store at the time of the robbery.

The suspect demanded money from both women. The customer reportedly gave him her wallet and fled the store while the employee left her purse and left the store as well.

The suspect tried to open the cash register as the employee dialed 911.

Scottsdale officers arrived on scene and set up a perimeter approximately 2 minutes after the emergency call was placed.

The suspect fled out a door facing west and tried to flee, running through an occupied daycare facility. Police caught up to the suspect just west of the daycare.

He reportedly resisted arrest and officers were forced to Taser him so that he could be subdued and taken into custody.

An undisclosed amount of cash and the items taken from the two female victims were recovered.

The suspect’s identity is being withheld by police while they conduct their investigation.
