FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - The Hamilton Huskies came into the first game of the Arizona high school football season ranked 16th nationally and in dramatic fashion showed why they are going to dominate class 5A-I and vie for another state title.
The Huskies took on 11th ranked Las Vegas Bishop Gorman on Friday night at the Skydome in Flagstaff.
Hamilton pulled out the 24-17 victory. With less then two minutes remaining on the clock, Hamilton quarterback Kyren Poe broke the goaline with a short run for the winning touchdown.
The game was the kick-off to the fall football season in Arizona with the rest of the teams ready to kick off their seasons on Friday.
In the process of the big victory Hamilton might have also shown they deserve to be talked about as one of the best teams in the nation.
