Teen robbed on Phoenix bus

PHOENIX -- Silent Witness is offering a reward of up to $1,000 to help find the suspect who attacked a 16-year-old girl on a city bus.

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 4, the victim was riding a city bus in the area of 15th Avenue and Thomas Road. When the bus came to a stop, a woman allegedly assaulted the teen and grabbed her purse.

According to Phoenix police Detective Mike Fischer, during the struggle, the victim's purse spilled open and the suspect took the girl's wallet and fled from the bus.

The victim sustained minor injuries to her face, neck and upper chest area.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic female, approximately 27 years old, 5 feet 4 inches tall, 130 pounds with a medium build and a lip piercing.

Police released surveillance photos of the suspect.

Silent Witness is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for the arrest or indictment of the person responsible for this crime. Anyone with information is asked to call 480-WITNESS.
