Shooting suspect still on the loose after deadly altercation at Phoenix apartment

PHOENIX - Phoenix police are investigating an overnight shooting that left one man dead and the suspect on the loose.

The shooting took place at an apartment complex around 1 a.m. Friday morning near the intersection of 27th Ave and Glendale.

According to police a Arlandis West, 20, was shot multiple times and died later at the hospital from his wounds.

The shooting happened after the victim and the suspect, who both live at the Phoenix apartment complex, got into an altercation when hanging out with friends

Residents in the complex self-evacuated themselves during the incident.

Phoenix police are working on locating the suspect.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his late 20s.

Around 4 a.m. 3TV's Bruce Haffner said he saw a SWAT team at the complex serving a search warrant at a unit in the apartment complex believed to be that of the suspect.
