Susan Anderson, Santa Cruz Humane Society, says the Society’s shelter is a no-kill shelter, meaning dogs and cats are kept until they are adopted. She saysthe operation of the shelter is severely challenged due to the bad economy.  She says the Society relies almost 100-percent on donations and also operates a thrift store.  She says donations of clothing, furniture and other household items are always needed.
