PHOENIX -- The countdown is on to the Arizona 3-Day for the Cure! Walkers all over the state are busily training for the 60-mile walk, all the while raising money to help find a cure for breast cancer.
Team Walking On is one of the biggest teams to take part in the Arizona 3-Day event, one of 15 put on throughout the country.
As team captain Liz Parks explains, Team Walking On has raised nearly $500,000 over the years. Their goal this year is nearly $68,000.
Parks and her teammates, Leslie Keller, Ed Taube and Debra Juarez, explain why The 3-Day is so important to them and how you can help find a cure fro breast cancer.
Team Walking On is hosting a fundraising event on Thursday, Aug. 19 at 5 p.m. at the Compound Grill, 7000 E. Mayo Blvd. (Scottsdale Road and Loop 101), Phoenix. Advance tickets are $10, and are available online at 3DayTeamWalkingOn.com. Tickets are $15 at the door.
All proceeds benefit the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure.
If you can't make it to Team Walking On's event, you can always contribute online. In addition to Team Walking On, there are plenty of individual walkers and teams who would love to have your support.
More than 2,000 walkers have already registered to take part in the Arizona 3-Day for the Cure, which takes place Friday-Sunday, Nov. 12-14.
