CHANDLER, Ariz. – Chandler police have identified a man who was badly injured in car-pedestrian accident Friday night.

It happened at about 10 p.m. on Ray Road just west of Hartford Street.

According to Detective Frank Mendoza of the Chandler Police Department, a minivan was heading east on Ray Road when a pedestrian ran southbound across the road and into the side of the vehicle.

The pedestrian, who is in critical condition, has been identified as Oscar Javier Rameriz Orosco from Guatemala. Next of kin has been notified.

Investigators believe Orosco might have been drunk at the time of the wreck.

The driver of the minivan was not injured and is not facing any charges in connection with the accident.
