Cash reward offered in case of N. Ariz. toddler found dead near Rimrock

RIMROCK, Ariz. – Authorities are offering a cash reward for information that leads to the arrest of the person or people involved in the death of a northern Arizona toddler.

Yavapai County Silent Witness is offering $1,000 in cash and the Federal Bureau of Investigations is offering another $2,500 for the arrest and conviction of the suspect.

Two-year-old Sylar Newton was camping with his custodial mother and her family when he disappeared from their Beaver Creek campsite.

The area where they were camping is near Rimrock, Ariz. in the Verde Valley about 75 miles south of Flagstaff.

The boy was last seen the evening of July 24. Human remains that police believe may belong to Sylar were discovered about two miles from the campsite where the child was last seen.
