Victim's family offering $100,000 reward in Phoenix cold case

PHOENIX -- A reward of $100,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest in a Phoenix murder case that has gone cold.

About a month ago, Phyllis Mizioch was found shot to death in her upscale home. So far, police have not gotten anywhere in their investigation. Now Mizioch's family is hoping money will persuade anybody with information to come forward.

Mizioch lived with her niece. The night of July 6, that niece found Mizioch's body on the kitchen floor of their home in the area of 12th Street and Coral Gables Drive near Lookout Mountain.

Police believe Mizioch, 57, was killed earlier in the day, but said the motive does not appear to be robbery or burglary.

While Mizioch was separated from her husband, her sister-in-law said family meant the world to her.

Mizioch's friends and family are putting up the money for the reward.

Anyone who has information concerning this incident is asked to call the Phoenix Police Department Violent Crimes Bureau at 602-262-6141 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
